Traditional Musical Instruments and Repairs

Giannis Kavalarakis was born in 1988 in Athens and is originally from Heraklion, Crete. He started Cretan Lyra lessons at the age of 8, with Asterinos Zacharioudakis, Giorgos Skordalos and later with Giorgos Kontogiannis. As soon as he finished school and in parallel with his studies, he started learning the art of luthiery from Petros Zaranis. His ten years of experience, as well as his passion for making musical instruments, led him to dedicate himself professionally to it.
